About Living Advantage
The Living Advantage Program was created by Kenneth Channell, a passionate advocate for helping people discover how they are naturally wired to think, communicate, and lead. Ken believed that many of the struggles individuals and organizations face are not caused by lack of talent or effort, but by misunderstanding how people are designed to operate.

His vision was simple yet powerful:
When people understand themselves and understand others, communication improves, conflicts fade, and individuals begin spending more of their time doing what they are naturally best at doing.

Living Advantage was built to help make that possible.

The Philosophy Behind Living Advantage
Every person operates from a unique combination of instincts, expectations, and learned behaviors. These patterns shape how we react under stress, how we communicate, and how we approach work and relationships.

The Living Advantage Program helps individuals and organizations recognize these patterns so they can:

Ken believed that everyone has an advantage—a unique way they are wired to contribute value. The key is identifying that advantage and creating environments where it can flourish.

Understanding How People Are Wired
Much of the Living Advantage framework is inspired by the work of Dr. Eric Berne, founder of Transactional Analysis and author of Games People Play. His research revealed that people operate through different personality states throughout the day.

Living Advantage describes these layers in a practical way that helps people understand how they respond to pressure, expectations, and everyday interactions.
Survival Self Your instinctive reactions under pressure or stress. This state protects us but can also trigger defensive communication or emotional responses.
“Ought-To” Self The expectations and learned behaviors we develop early in life. These internal rules shape how we believe we should behave.
Comfort Self Our balanced and authentic state where we perform at our best—thinking clearly, communicating well, and operating confidently.
When individuals understand how these layers interact, they gain greater emotional awareness, clearer communication, and stronger leadership capability.

The Strength of Balanced Teams
Through thousands of assessments and over two decades of research, Living Advantage identifies four natural personality strengths represented by colors. Each color contributes a unique advantage to a team or organization.
Red – The Doer Action-oriented and results-driven. Reds move projects forward and thrive on measurable achievement.
Blue – The Innovator Strategic thinkers and creative problem-solvers who generate new ideas and improve systems.
Green – The Organizer Structured, disciplined, and precise. Greens bring stability, process, and operational efficiency.
Yellow – The Connector Relational and collaborative. Yellows strengthen communication and bring people together.
A successful organization does not rely on one personality type—it thrives when these strengths work together in balance.

Continuing Kenneth Channell’s Vision
Kenneth Channell believed that the greatest advantage anyone can gain is understanding themselves and understanding others.

Living Advantage continues that vision by helping individuals, teams, and organizations discover their natural strengths and align those strengths with the roles they perform every day.

When people discover how they are wired, relationships improve, communication becomes clearer, and teams become stronger.

Because when people discover their advantage, everyone wins.
“The greatest advantage comes from understanding yourself and others—because awareness changes everything.”
